VARP will host a Zoom on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. to discuss plans for the camp and develop the guest speaker lineup strategy.  Any member interested in participating as a guest speaker should plan to attend.

VARP & Henrico CTE Roofing Career Camp

This June, VARP is partnering with Henrico County Career and Technical Education (CTE) to host a Roofing Career Camp for local high schoolers. Aimed at introducing students to the advanced and high-tech world of roofing, this camp will provide hands-on learning and insights into the industry.

Camp Details:

• Dates: June 2 – June 18 (Monday – Thursday)
• Time: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Location: Classroom instruction at Highland Springs High School ACE, with potential field trips to local roofing contractors and distributors.
• Transportation: Provided by Henrico CTE to the ACE Center and field trip locations.

Guest Speaking Opportunities: We are looking for different volunteers from our various member companies for each day of the camp. Volunteers will help introduce the industry to the students by talking about their roofing segment, etc.

As a Guest Speaker, you will:

• Present a brief overview of your company.
• Highlight the diverse career paths within the roofing industry by specifically highlighting your business and your company's segment of the industry.
