Marjorie King will update VARP members on the latest info they need to know from DPOR. Topics will include:

  • Statutory changes that effect contractors and the subcontractors they hire
  • Update on the current regulatory review & how individuals can get involved
  • Common contract mistakes and how to avoid them (required elements of a contract)

This seminar qualifies for 1 VARP Accredited Contractor Credit.

Born and raised in Central Virginia, Marjorie King currently serves as the Executive Director for the Board for Contractors, Waste Management Facility Operators and the Polygraph Advisory Board at the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Marjorie began working with these Boards in 2014 as a licensing specialist. In 2016 she advanced to the licensing Supervisor and onto the Regulatory Board Administrator in 2019. Marjorie began serving in her current role with the Department in 2023. Prior to this Marjorie served as the office manager for an electrical contractor in Dinwiddie, Virginia for ten years. Marjorie completed her bachelor’s in Business Administration at Strayer University in 2019 and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration. She is a nature lover who enjoys camping, visiting Virginia State Parks, and watching A Christmas Story at any point during the year. She is on a constant look-out for that elusive leg lamp.

*CANCELLATION POLICY: VARP must pay for everyone who registers to attend. Members who register but don't attend, will be assessed a $25 "no show" fee. Failure to pay the fee may effect your company's membership status. Cancellations must be received in writing to the VARP office at least 3 weekdays prior to the event to avoid the "no show" fee.
